- After listening to our song multiple time we have decided that we want to make a narrative based music video.
- We want to portray the majority of the lyrics in a literal way, some of them are metaphoric, but we want to show them as what they literally say. For example, 'The boy who lost his marbles' This is a metaphor for a boy being slightly crazy, but we will show this with a shot of some marbles rolling on the floor.
- We had an idea of either dressing up as the different characters, or finding people to play them.
- We want to shoot the video from the artists point of view, so we don't see the face of the artist, this will mean we can create an image of what we want the artist to look like, without trying to find someone who matches the description accurately.
- The video will be shot at a train station, with the different characters positioned in different areas of the station.
- For the lyric 'theres a boy with a smile, thinking about marie' we had the idea of filming a girl, then placing this footage in a thought bubble within the shot of the boy when we edited it.
- At the start of the video, we want a shot from behind the artist sitting on a bench, with people moving around on the station platform in front of her. This is to match the lyric 'There's so many people at the station' We were thinking about using time lapse to make the people seem like they are moving past alot faster than they actually are, to create a sense of business.
- Similarly at the end of the video, we wanted to use the same shot from behind the artist, but have to people moving gradually more slowly, using time lapse. This is so that the station appears to be emptying, leaving her on her own there.
- The end of the video, is a zoom in shot that creates the illusion of zooming into the artists head and into her thoughts.
